Do You Need the Garmin Search and Rescue Insurance? If so, where do you sign up and are there different insurance programs? Let’s find out.
Where can You Find The SAR Insurance?
This one is easy. If you have a Garmin satellite messenger, then you’ll have your own Garmin Explore web page with your device information, emergency contacts, etc. Check out mine below.
From this page, you can see at the top right where is says “ACCOUNT.” Select that and you see this next:
From this page, scroll down until you see the “SOS Coverage on the left-hand side of the page.
This is where you’ll be able to gather more information and select the insurance plan you want.
What Insurance Plan Should I Get?
This is also an easy question. Are you a typical outdoor adventurer or are you into extreme sports and outdoor activities? Here are the two insurance programs below with their associated costs.
Final Thoughts
I don’t recommend you have the Invincible Plan or It Will Never Happen to Me plan.
These insurance prices are actually very reasonable and I personally would prefer to pay $39.95 annually, rather then getting a $6,000 to $15,000 bill for my rescue services.
Just a thought.
