The Garmin GPSMAP 66i is a new inReach satellite messenger that may be replacing the Garmin inReach Explorer+. I was talking to a Garmin customer service representative this week and asked them if they had an updated Explorer+ in the works and the answer I received was that the Garmin GPSMAP 66i is an improved satellite messenger over the Explorer+. Some initial differences I see is the enhanced maps and active weather, that shows clouds, rain, etc. in color on the device itself. The GPSMAP 66i looks to be slightly smaller than the Explorer+ but has more power in the smaller size. Click the link below to learn more about the Garmin GPSMAP 66i.
