How Are They The Same?

- The Mini 2 has 2-way Messaging, Maps, Bluetooth, Navigation, TracBack, and Weather.
- The inReach Mini 2 has Global, Pole-to-Pole Satellite Coverage.
- The SPOT Gen 4 is the least expensive device on the market and one of the smallest.
What Messenger Should I Choose?
- Choose the Garmin inReach Mini 2 if you want global satellite coverage, maps, navigation, TracBack and Two-way messaging.
- Choose the SPOT Gen 4 if you don’t have much money and you just want something on your pack to help you out in a life threatening emergency.
Final Thoughts
These are both great devices to carry on your pack, but I have found that having a 2-way messenger, plus maps and weather, is better than only having a 1-way satellite communicator.
