What is the difference between the Garmin inReach Interval vs Tracking? It seems simple, but there are differences between each Garmin device.
Send Interval
Let me show you some screen shots of what Garmin says for the SEND INTERVAL.
For more information, check out Support.Garmin for more information.
Moving Interval
You can set the moving interval so a track isn’t laid down for the length of time you specify when you are not moving.
Tracking (Who’s it For)
Tracking is mostly for family and friends to see where you are on the MapShare page. If you don’t start tracking, they will not be able to see your location.
The MapShare page is also the only way someone can initiate a message to you if they don’t have an inReach Satellite Communicator.
Final Thoughts
Let’s keep things simple. Tracking is for family and friends to see where you are on your outdoor adventure. The send interval is for you to select how often they see your track being laid down.
